Not Your Typical Back-To-School Photos

We kicked off our second year of homeschool by schooling on a houseboat, in a secluded cave, with zero electronics around. It was quite the start! Something that interesting requires not so typical back to school photos. Therefore, I give you:

Max, 8th grade.

Favorite subject: Social studies

Favorite thing he learned in the first few days of the 2021-2022 school year: How to chart the waters...navigating the lake was hard, but it also wasn't. I can do it easily now.

Harrison, 6th grade.

Favorite subject: Social studies

Favorite thing he learned in the first few days of the 2021-2022 school year: How to drive a boat and navigate the lake.

Elizabeth, 4th grade.

Favorite subject: Social studies

Favorite thing she learned in the first few days of the 2021-2022 school year: The Jupiter usually comes out first when we looked at the stars. We could see so many stars!

Mom, 2nd year homeschool teacher

Favorite subjects to teach: Math, because it's all done online and by another teacher. I'm kidding, I'm kidding...kinda. History and geography are some of my favorites, along with literature because I get to re-read some of the classics I read as I child.

Favorite thing she learned in the first few days of the 2021-2022 school year: All about wild rice in Northern Minnesota. I had no idea!

Zeus, 2nd year of having his humans by his side.

Favorite subject: Walks and cooking because things are dropped on the floor often.

Favorite thing he learned in the first few days of the 2021-2022 school year: How to walk down a plank and to NOT eat a worksheet. He nailed "the dog ate my homework" bit within the first hour of the school year.
