We are well past the Christmas season, so I thought now would be a great time to share some of our favorite toys from Christmas.
Crystal Climbers (Slot-Together Translucent Builders)
were on sale at Lakeshore right before Christmas and I couldn't pass them up. The kids loved these the moment I opened the box. Here are a few thoughts on the building toy:
- Perfect for ages 5+, any younger and the kids don't seem to have as much fun with these because they can't figure out how to build the intricate spaceships the older kids easily build.
- Even at full price, these are a great buy.
- They store easily. We put ours in a container (like these:Sterilite 16428012 6-Quart Storage Box, White Lid with See-Through Base, 12-Pack) or you can easily keep it in it's original box (our's quickly got destroyed by little hands).
- Keeps the kids entertained for hours building and rebuilding. They thoroughly enjoy building and rebuilding space ships and airplanes .anything that can fly that even slightly resembles anything from Star Wars.
- One of the most played with toys from Christmas.
- Only downfall: these tend to break easily when stepped on, so they need to be picked up right away. Yet they can survive being thrown at another child's head from across the room.
These are played with so much (just as much as our Magformers 62 Piece Set) that we'll be adding another set to it soon. Most definitely one of my best toy buys to date.
