Kool Aid Snow Painting

I like to believe that winter is winding down here, which means we'll be starting our Spring/Easter activities soon. The one winter time activity that we hadn't done this year was snow painting. Last year I mixed fresh snow and paint together and had the kids paint on construction paper (http://ashlen-kidspert.blogspot.com/2014/02/this-is-how-we-do-snowy-day.html).

This year I had half empty Kool Aid packets I wanted to use up, so I mixed them with snow. Not only did it smell delicious (and was taste tested by a couple of interested kiddos), but their paintings turned out really cool!

Outside scooping up snow at 9 a.m. It's a totally normal thing here.

I wasn't quite sure how their paintings would turn out, but they were really neat. They remind me of water color pictures, but a tad brighter.
