It's been nearly a year. A solid year of no plans, not going any place other than hiking or elsewhere we could easily socially distance. I took a leap and ordered tickets for Friday night's event, Dome After Dark at the Des Moines Botanical Garden. I triple checked the Covid policies in place at the Garden and took a leap of faith.
I put earrings on for the first time in a year, sent dog to Grandma and Grandpa's to run around with their dog (so they would both be worn out at the end of the night!), and spent an hour and a half walking around the 75 degree dome, with drinks in our hands. The music playing over the speakers set the tone for a very fun evening OUT of the house! It was a much needed night out for all five of us.
My ears didn't know what to do with earrings in them!
The minis enjoyed reading the signs around the Garden and identifying the numerous palm trees.
Masks are required, unless you're sitting down and activitely eating or drinking. Otherwise, a mask must be on. I was pleased with the crowd control too. There were a limited number of tickets for this event, so I knew it wouldn't be overly crowded (I believe they're doing limited attendance for regular hours as well).
There's a great display for Black History Month too!
Our little candle lit table.
My plan worked perfectly. Everyone ended the night happy and tired!
