Summing up our weekend: movie night at home with the hubs, errands, Beaverdale Fall Fest, party at my parents for the Iowa vs. Iowa State game, more Fall Festing, a lazy Sunday Family Fun Day at home (which turned into an organizing the house), and prepping for the week ahead.

Before we left the Festival, we hit up two of our Beaverdale faves: Jersey Guys pizza and Beaverdale Confections for some delicious chocolate truffles.
Our relaxing Sunday turned into an organizational/cleaning day. Apparently Elizabeth's been watching her brother's help me unload the dishwasher because she happily handed me plates and bowls, saying "here you go."
Making crock pot applesauce. I made it last year at this time and it did not turn out well. So, I tried out my own recipe. I completely guessed at measurements, but.....It turned out delicious! 2 of the 3 kids loved it. It wasn't overly sweet and had a good, cinnamon taste to it. I will definitely be making this again. I may try to make it with the daycare kids.
Easy and delicious chili: brown meat, box of Hamburger Helper Chili Macaroni, 1 can of chili beans, and fresh pepper chopped in. It's a family favorite here!The finished chili! I usually put in red peppers in addition to the green peppers, but apparently I ran out of red peppers. Still yummylicious!
"I see you!" said Elizabeth as she looked at us upside down. A little before bed wrestle match with her big brother Max.
This week we'll be concentrating on settling into the new schedules, routines, and starting on our fall activities and projects! Love this time of year!!
