Last summer at McHenry Park spraygrounds
Welcome to our weekly Thursday morning post about what's going on in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We'll share what we'll be doing, great finds, restaurants to eat at, shops to drop some cash at, and just all the great things Des Moines has to offer families.
What We're Doing:
- Downtown Farmer's Market. If it doesn't rain, otherwise I'm putting a movie on and dozing on the couch Saturday morning.
- McHenry Park splash pad.
- Website work. Yes, I'm spending part of my weekend working, but I really can't complain when I can do it drinking beer during a "business" meeting or when I get to spend my Sunday stopping by trendy and fun restaurants, shops, and spaces.
Other Happenings Around The Metro:
- Wizard World Comic Con. My oldest son is devastated we're not going this weekend.
- Movie in the Park. "Up" is playing Friday night at Ashby Park.
- Living History Farms 45th Anniversary.
- Butterfly Discovery Hike at Neal Smith Wildlife Refuge. We LOVE this place and the kids love the 2 mile hiking trail that walks by the bison enclosure.
