It was a fairly easy going weekend here in the Sheaffer household. Friday night was early to bed for the kiddos and an errand night for me. Saturday was a relaxing "home day" for the minis and myself while Matt worked. I took the morning to do laundry and introduced them to my favorite Halloween movie "Hocus Pocus." Max was only semi-into it, mainly because the main character's name is Max, and the other two could have cared less.
Starting our Saturday morning off with a craft from Target's dollar section.
Popcorn and a movie Saturday. Today's feature: "Hocus Pocus."
The boys spent a solid hour quizzing each other with their Where's Waldo-type book.
Perfect afternoon/evening to spend outdoors!
New recipe for the week: Homemade crock pot chicken noodle soup. I had a recipe for this I've used before, but couldn't find it. So, I made it up as I went along. Wasn't too bad and just perfect for a fall evening.
Our Sunday Family Fun Day was spent pancaking it up at the STS pancake breakfast and at the pumpkin patch with fantastic family and friends! This year we finally made it to Center Grove Orchard, but sadly, we were thoroughly disappointed. We had heard wonderful things from people about this orchard and pumpkin patch and we were all really looking forward to it. CGO had many great activities for the kids, but a lack of employees supervising and the horrendous crowds were not pleasing. We didn't even get to do half of the activities the Orchard offered. Oh well, live and learn (that we're probably not going back there). Despite all of that, we still managed to have fun!
We started our Family Fun Day at the pumpkin patch by waiting at a stand still a half mile away from the pumpkin patch. This should have been a clue......
Getting buried in the corn pool.
The issue with playing in a giant corn pool??? Corn in the underwear!
Elizabeth's hay hair.
Playing in the three little pig's houses.
The giant slide that Max had to do by himself.
On the drive home from the pumpkin patch today, Max suggested that tomorrow morning we wake up extra early and go for a long hike on a trail "that has cement." I reminded him that tomorrow is a school/work day, to which he replied "you mean there's only two days to the weekend???" Yea, I still think it's unfair too buddy....but that leaves us five whole days to plan two whole days of awesomeness!
