Last weekend I went through storage bins and discovered TONS of arts and crafts, activities, lessons, etc. that haven't been used in years. One of the things uncovered was an entire bag of bright and colorful foam stickers. I pulled out all of the letters and numbers (I saved the animals and shapes for another activity. I set them around the table and handed the kids lined construction paper (I drew the lines on the papers ahead of time). The instructions:
Put the stickers on the lines and write the letter or number next to it. Not only did they practice their letter and number identification, but also their writing and their colors. I heard many exclamations of, "now I'm using the yellow Y."
Sure this was an educational activity, but it also provided over 30 minutes of quiet as they worked!
