Hey there! My name is Lauren and I am thrilled to be joining Ashlen here at The Kidsperts! As a loyal reader of Ash's work, I'm excited to help contribute to such a great site. I occasionally keep a travel blog documenting my domestic and international travels for my day job in the corporate world. I also own a photography business that keeps me busy many evenings and weekends. Like Ashlen, I live in the Des Moines area with my husband and teenage stepdaughter and our three dogs. I would describe myself as passionate about the role of a daycare provider; my sister and I (and especially our parents!) were lucky to have Judy, an amazing woman and care giver look after us in her home. Judy's family is our second family and I can't imagine our lives without them.
I'm really excited about some of the features of our new site! We've made it easier to connect with Ashlen and me via social media, improved search functionality, and have made it easier to comment on, like and share posts. We'll be rolling out more features in the upcoming weeks; the easiest way to say in the loop is via the newsletter sign up in the sidebar.
While many of my contributions may be behind the scenes through work on the website and photography, I look forward to writing about our household, traveling, budgeting/personal finance, and supporting my partner co-parent his daughter.
