We had a wonderful weekend outside enjoying the weather! We went for our first hike of 2015, did some shoe shopping for growing feet, made our first trip to the zoo this year, took a long walk around Gray's Lake, and ended the weekend with our first cook out of the season.
Jester Park is one of our favorite places to hike. I excepted it to be super muddy, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too bad. We played at the Playscape and went on a 3 mile hike on our favorite trail. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to hike.
I was thrown for a loop when we came to the stream and there was actually water in it! There hasn't been water in the stream for two years and I really didn't want to deal with a kid (or myself!) tumbling in. Thankfully we all crossed with no issues.
We had to do some shoe (and clearance clothes) shopping after our hike when it was discovered Elizabeth's shoes were a size too small. Now she's all set with some new pink Nike's and clothes.
I pressed the pause button Sunday morning to work on blogs, daycare planning, and paperwork from my bed. I had a little Miss E "helping" me. I qualify this as not suitable working conditions.
Our first trip to the Blank Park Zoo for 2015! It was a sunny, crisp, cool day which meant most of the animals were out and active.
Have you ever seen a rhino run??!!? The five of us never have. We stayed at their exhibit the longest while we watched them run around, carry sticks, and make lots of noises.
The highlight of the zoo trip: playing at the playground!
The zoo couldn't contain them so we moved onto Gray's Lake. A two mile walk around the lake did these minis some good!
With winter just ending, this spring weekend was perfection for our moods. We are happily displaying our sun kissed faces this week and loving that we get to spend our time outdoors!
