Instead of spending money on a kids tablet and games, we gave our kids a Kindle (Fire HD 7, 7" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB - Includes Special Offers, Black). After a few years of use, spills, drops, and drools, it's time to replace the Kindle. Imagine my excitement when I saw Amazon released a kids version of the Kindle: Fire HD 7 Kids Edition, 7" HD Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB, Blue Kid-Proof Case.
It has all of the features of the adult Kindle, an amazing warranty, one year of Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, and my favorite part: a kid proof protective case. I was sold. This went on my kid's Christmas list without them knowing it (it's also their big Santa gift this year).
I don't allow a lot of tablet time (15 minutes per day per child), so I had no interest in purchasing a tablet for each kid. After reading more about the Kids Kindle, I discovered that you can set up different profiles for each child. I can download appropriate games for each child and don't have to worry about my two year old playing her six year old brother's math games.
If you're looking for a tablet for your child or looking to upgrade, I highly suggest looking into the Amazon Kids Kindle. I'm incredibly excited for my kids to get their's Christmas morning....and possibly re-claim my Kindle!
