Still On Vacay Schedule

The first few days back from vacation can always kick your ass. Hell, it's been a breeze for me, yet my children are a different story. It's currently 10:26 a.m. and the youngest is still asleep. I sent the oldest two to walk the dog an hour ago in hopes it would help wake them up. Instead, they came home looking more disheveled than when they left.

My goal for the week (for the minis) has been simple: go to bed before 10 p.m. and wake up before 10 a.m. They're definitely still on vacay time, where bedtime didn't really exist, car naps were taken daily, and wake up times were (mostly) flexible. Thank goodness homeschooling allows a lot of flexibility with our daily schedule, but it'll be a rude awakening once they're back in the classroom and on a tight schedule.

Now that we're nearing the end of the week and we're thinking about weekend plans, I'm the only one in my family who is asking what we should do. The others all came to the same consenses: sleep is what they want. I like to think the dog is on my side too, but I know he would never pass up a good day laying around the house with the entire family. Despite doing this all week, my goal for tomorrow is still the same: have the minis wake up before 10 a.m.
