Welcome to our weekly Thursday morning post about what's going on in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We'll share what we'll be doing, great finds, restaurants to eat at, shops to drop some cash at, and just all the great things Des Moines has to offer families.
What We're Doing:
- Blank Park Zoo: I have Friday off so we're headed to the zoo with family Friday morning
- Downtown Farmer's Market
- Spending our weekend with family who I haven't seen in 10 years--and some my husband and kids are meeting for the first time!
Other Happenings Around The Metro:
- Taste of the South Side. Tonight at the Blank Park Zoo.
- Raccoon River Park: We went there a couple of weeks ago (read more here) and had a great time walking the trail around the lake, running and climbing on the playground, and even took a dip in the lake.
- Iowa Children's Water Festival 2015 at DMACC Ankeny campus.
- Pirate Cove Park in Altoona. We have yet to take the minis to this park but it's on our To Do List!
- Pitch Perfect 2 is in theaters. Head to Flix Brewhouse and make it a fun date night!
