Daylight Savings time seriously f*&#ed with my minis the entire week. It was as if they were having some sort of out of body experience. It was rough for all of us. Thankfully I planned a mostly relaxing weekend. I'm really hoping this switches some moods and attitudes around here, but if nothing else we had fun.
Friday I spent in one of my favorite places having me time: a book store. I actually went because mini #1 needed new books to read and I got absorbed in books. It was amazing to have a little bit of time away, plus I got several new reads out of it.
Saturday the minis and I spent our day at home while Hubs worked. There were several major fights, one epic meltdown (if I remember it correctly, all 4 of us were in tears), but the highlights included a huge grocery delivery, laundry, toilet scrubbing, living room rearranging, and sleeping in (me, not the kids. They were up before 6 a.m.).
Saturday night Hubs and I took the opportunity to get out of the house together (first time since we returned from Vegas, which you can read about here, here, and here). We tried out Ceviche for the first time and met the other half of The Kidsperts at Creme's Dessert Bar for a late night cocktail and sweetness. I highly recommend both places for a quick date night or even a night out with friends.
Our first stop on date night was the new Cuban restaurant in the East Village called Ceviche. We did not get ceviche to eat, but instead tried out the cuban sandwich with rice and bean and the chorizo cheese plate along with cocktails. Everything was great and definitely a recommended spot for lunch, dinner, date night, or a meal with friends.
Next up was the dessert bar Creme. Drinks (cocktails and almond latte) were phenomenal as was dessert.
Sunday we spent with family at my aunt's birthday brunch and spent the afternoon/evening raking and playing in the leaves in the backyard.
The kids went to bed exhausted and happy so I'm REALLY hoping for attitude changes this next week!
