First December Weekend

We fit quite a bit into our weekend! We had pizza with Santa on Friday night, I volunteered at the Children's Museum Saturday morning, we walked around downtown and enjoyed games at the Christkindl Market, went on our Toys For Tots shopping spree at Toys R Us, introduced the minis to El Fogon, made Christmas cookies, read books, watched Christmas movies, and ended the weekend with glittery hot chocolate. Yes, I said GLITTERY HOT CHOCOLATE. That may be how we end every weekend from now on!

I have this habit of buying myself my own Christmas presents.....like these Kate Spade glasses studs (I have my eye on these too). I'm in love with them!

This was our first year attending the Blank Park Zoo's member only event: Pizza and Pj's with Santa. We loved it! It was incredibly well organized and extremely fun for the kids (well, at least the younger two. The oldest just goes along with whatever we have planned as this point...he's a pretty good sport about things!

A ferret and guinea pig kept kids entertained in the craft area.

Much to the minis delight, we found stuffed animals in our chairs when we were seated for dinner.

And then Santa entered the dining room. I loved watching Elizabeth's face when she heard his jingle bells before he walked into the room.

Story time, while parents got a minute to themselves.

We took a walk through the indoor section of the zoo and saw a few animals. Mostly birds that flew at us and walked with us....turns out the minis aren't fans of birds.

Ending our night with a drive down Candy Cane Lane to see the Christmas lights.

This was our first time at the Christkindlmarket. We didn't really know what to expect but we all had a decent time. We played some games in the kids area and did a bit of shopping at the vendor stands. We didn't stay too long because it started to get chilly as the sun began setting.

The nail pooping game had me in stitches (mostly because I was the one snapping pictures). A string with a nail hanging down is tied around the waist. You have to squat down to get the nail into the bottle. Funniest thing I've seen in a while!

We used the rest of our late afternoon/early evening to go on our annual Toys For Tots shopping spree. This year all five of us had a great time picking out toys for kids of all ages.

A couple of weeks ago I went to El Fogon with friends and instantly fell in love with the fresh ingredients used in their food. I finally talked the minis into trying it (they're partial to El Rodeo) and they loved it too! They were kept entertained by the people making the fresh corn tortillas....and we were entertained by the middle mini reading the beer menu and asking, "how old do I have to be again to have a margarita?" Totally my kid.

Sunday was great! It was laundry catch up day, we baked sugar cookies, played outside, took naps, had grandparents over, and read books. My favorite part of the day was enjoying glittery hot chocolate before bed!

My new sign my parents got me. It goes perfectly in our hallway!

A nap with the cat. It's my favorite kind of nap.

The rest of our December weekends are pretty crazy, so I'm really happy we had one last relaxing Sunday!
