Quarantine Easter Surprises

I knew this Easter season would be different: no egg hunts, no Easter activities, and no family get togethers. I've found taking the focus off of what we're missing and putting it elsewhere helps, so it didn't take much to get the minis excited to give out "Easter surprises" to their grandparents. We decided to make cards, fill Easter eggs for the grandparents, and give them a chocolate bunny May Day Basket style (for those not familiar with May Day Baskets, you leave treats/basket of candy on someone's front porch, knock on the door, then run away). We only ran to the end of the driveway though so we could still shout "Happy Easter" and talk with grandparents from a safe distance.

Friday was our big surprise day, but we used Tuesday as our day to prepare. We gave each set of grandparents a "hug" card (I traced the youngest and she decorated them). All three kids wrote small notes and we put those in the eggs instead of candy. They had fun getting everything ready, but they were crawling out of their skin with excitement the closer to Friday evening we got!

Our table of surprises. My Aunt's birthday was Friday and as a surprise, my Uncle drove her around to family and friends houses so we could all wish her a happy birthday. It was so much fun since who knows when we'll actually be able to spend time together. We went out on the front porch and sang Happy Birthday, she got her present, and we were able to catch up quickly in the sunshine.

So excited to go to grandparents! As we pulled out of the driveway, Hubs asked me "who's house are we going to first? Who's expecting us first?" My answer: "Um, no one knows we're coming!" It was a huge surprise for both sets of grandparents!

"Happy Easter!" Then the minis proceeded to run around the front yard and get yelled at for messing around. Typical.

At my parents, we hid the eggs in the front yard and had them do a grandparents egg hunt! The minis were blurs running through the yard hiding the eggs.

Good thing the minis were in pj's because we didn't get home until almost 10 p.m. They fell right into bed.

We obviously didn't go inside my parents house, but my mom sent this photo of their opened eggs and goodies. It was a fun surprise for everyone!
