Independence Day Celebration at Daycare

Our 4th of July party at daycare was simple: a fruit flag (I decided against sugary treats), two arts and crafts, a few simple fireworks, and an afternoon in the inflatable pool. Good simple fun for all!

Our red, white, and blue fruit flag (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and bananas). The kids enjoyed the raspberries most (see pic below for the reason).

Raspberry fingers. Enough said.

Obviously the fruit flag was a hit.

We did firecracker scratch art (courtesy of Oriental Trading Co.) and these firework paintings (I was only able to talk a couple of the kids into doing the paintings).

We did a chicken laying an egg (you light one end, the chicken makes a sound and then blows up a balloon egg out the other end). The kids loved this one, but their favorite were the big snakes because they played with the ashes once it was done (and cooled). As I said, simple fun for the day was our theme.

An afternoon in the pool while the littles slept for naps. I have never seen water so dirty!

Ending the simple, fun day with a simple, fun Independence Eve parade!
