We've done Circus Day in the past summer's, but this time we set it up outside and with one big change: the kids were the circus performers! We had games, one child was the "animal" tamer (with other kids as the animals), other kids did trapeze acts on the trapeze bar on the swing set, all kids did some tumbling, somersaults, and cartwheels, and they tried out the balance beam(s). We had a few surprises too (like the juggling balls)!
The coloring pages were perfect since we had a rainy morning. I stocked up at Michael's on circus themed art supplies, party supplies, and games.
The circus animals were the spectators. Also, the stuffed animals got left outside in the early morning rain showers. Oops!
Tickets please!
Cartwheels, somersaults, splits, jumps, and games!
Bags of popcorn from the circus for our afternoon showing of Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (ok, so they only watched maybe 20 minutes of the movie before they were back outside circusing it up).
Watching the kids trying to figure out juggling was my favorite part of the day. We even watched a couple of how to videos (but no one got it).
