Welcome to our weekly post that highlights things to do on the weekends as a family, with friends, or date night ideas. We'll share what we'll be doing each weekend, things to do at home or outdoors with the kids, and things to do in and around Des Moines, Iowa (where we live). A little bit of everything rolled into one post for everyone to draw ideas from!
What We're Doing:
- Saturday is more of a "me" day: hair did in the morning and a night out with the girls in the evening.
- Lauren's open house for her NEW studio!
- Celebrating my mother in law's birthday early since we'll be out of town on her actual birthday. We're hoping to try out a new brunch place somewhere in Des Moines. Look for my weekend review early next week to find out where we went
- Plant flowers and/or get your garden ready for planting
- Visit a local art museum, sculpture garden, or garden
- Set up a Tour of Parks in your area. We did this over a weekend and had a blast! Pack a cooler for treat and water throughout the day. Have a picnic lunch at one of the parks.
- The Cat In The Hat at the Civic Center
- Saylorville Butterfly Garden and trails. Sunday will be the perfect day for taking in the signs of spring
- Bridges of Madison County and/or Pammel Park. We made a day of this two years ago and we all loved it! Read about our adventure here to get some ideas.
- Try out Noodle Zoo if you haven't already. Hubs and I got it for a date night in a few weeks ago. I had an amazing Greek Sandwich. Filling but light, perfect spring meal
