The Haunted Playhouse was back for it's second annual appearance at our Daycare Halloween Party. The Haunted Playhouse continued to be the hit of the day and was well worth bringing it in my living room (thanks Iowa for the super cold temps). We had a fun filled day with numerous games, songs, dancing, cupcakes, a costume parade, and reading ALL of the Halloween books one final time for the season.
Our games included Mini pumpkin Bowling and Pumpkin Toss. We also had Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin but no one wanted to play it because it involved covering their eyes.
Throughout the day we danced the Monster Mash, sang our Five Little Pumpkins and 10 Little Ghosts songs, played with pumpkin slime, and read all of our Halloween books one last time for the season. In the past two days, I've read Room on the Broom 46 times. Yes 46 times. I have the book memorized. For morning snack the kids got a cupcake that they helped make and decorate the day before the party.
I had two witches, two skunks, an elephant, a lion, and the Grinch in our costume parade....which really wasn't much of a parade, just a photo op....and none of the kids were overly thrilled about it!
We tried pumpkin seeds (from our pumpkin we carved earlier in the week). The kids didn't like them, but they really enjoyed playing with them!
Some of the party favors.
The kids had a great time and I was exhausted by the end of the day, but it was totally worth it!
