I'm constantly making the kids special treats and fun snacks. This time I decided it was time to make something for the adults crowd. I've seen a few recipes for spiced apple sangria on Pinterest, but I like to keep my life simple and my recipes simpler.
This drink was a crowd pleaser among our Monday night hang out crew. The next morning, a friend and fellow mommy messaged me with "it went down like water." Readers: you have been warned. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
What You'll Need:
- 1 bottle of white wine (Moscato or a Reisling is great for this recipe, but feel free to try out any white wine of your choosing)
- Hard apple cider (for this I used Cidre but I recommend something such as Angry Orchard)
- Apple cider
- Cinnamon sticks
- Apple slices
Pour one bottle of wine, 2 bottles of hard apple cider, and 1 cup of apple cider into a pitcher. Add apples and cinnamon sticks and let them soak overnight (or 12+ hours) in the pitcher with the alcohol. I added a bit of cinnamon to the top of my glass for some extra spice.
Side note: It's a good idea to use a pitcher with a lid. I did not use a lid and my oldest spilled the remainder of the pitcher while grabbing carrots out of the fridge. We then had a discussion about why mom's special apple cider smelled so strong. Lesson learned, use a lid.
