A Rainy Weekend In March

Sure it was a rainy weekend, but at least it wasn't snow! Initially, our weekend was filled with obligations, but somehow, it worked out that nearly all of those obligations were cancelled and we were able to enjoy a very full Family Fun Weekend!

Friday night was the mini's school Fun Night. After daycare kids left, I took a late shower while Hubs started the night with the minis. I showed up for the final hour of Fun Night, which was long enough to bid on silent auction items (and win them, of course).

The minis love that there's blizzards for sale at their fun night.

Our wins: a cookie basket and tickets to a hockey game!

Saturday morning was Harrison's final acting class for the winter session. Each child presented lines from Willy Wonka. I was shocked to see this middle mini fearlessly get up on stage and give it a go. I foresee the theater being a part of this one's life, much like his dad.

So, obviously all activities needed to be indoors since it was rainy. Luckily there was this little movie called Captain Marvel that kept us busy mid-day. We loved going to Flix Brewhouse so we could eat lunch while enjoying the movie.
I loved sitting next this one while watching the movie. I got to hear gasps coming from her, with little quips like, "yes, you CAN do it!" "Get up, get up, get up! You CAN do it!"

From there we went to a car show. I'd love a new vehicle in the next 18 months, but I'm very unsure what we should get. This was a laid back car show that let us check out and ask questions about nearly every vehicle on the market. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled to go to the car show, but it was something to do. We all wound up loving it.
The first thing Elizabeth spied was a convertible Mini Coop and exclaimed, "I found my car!"
Testing minivans and SUV's were at the top of our list.

The rainy streets of Des Moines.

Sunday afternoon we met family at the Botanical Center for Botanical Blues. We like to go at least once throughout the winter. On this particular Sunday, 34 degrees outside made us roasting indoors.

Hubs and I grabbed seats for listening to the music while the minis requested to walk around by themselves. I was fascinated by watching them learn and explore.

When cousin Nora arrived Elizabeth got to walk her around (with the help of Aunt Kris, of course).

This one cracks me up. Nora wasn't walking where Elizabeth wanted her to so she just dragged her along.

Even getting ready for bed can be entertaining in this house.

I know for sure that all of us are very ready for spring to be here so we can spend our weekends outdoors!
