Welcome to our weekly Thursday morning post about what's going on in the Des Moines, Iowa area. We'll share what we'll be doing, great finds, restaurants to eat at, shops to drop some cash at, and just all the great things Des Moines has to offer families.
What We're Up To:
- Wedding and baby showers for friends.
- Laundry. I have to pack for Vegas at the end of the week, which means we all need clean clothes!
- Possibly: a hike
- Fong's, simply so I can have this month's special of a watermelon margarita.
Other Happenings:
- Dayton Rodeo
- Flea Market at the Iowa State Fairgrounds
- Des Moines Renaissance Faire
- Mixology at the Science Center. My sister and I went in July and it was so much fun! Definitely try it out for a night out with friends or even a date night.
- Road trip for the long weekend? Last Labor Day we went to Minnesota (check that out here andhere) or keep it in Iowa with a day trip to the Grotto or Pella.
