Ever since the kids and I did our Tour of Parks, we've been looking for more Tours to go on. During ourTour of Wading Pools this past summer, the kids and I thought it would be fun to do a Tour of Pumpkin Patches. The object is simple: go to as many local pumpkin patches as we can possibly fit in. Unlike our other Tours that we did in a single weekend, our Tour of Pumpkin Patches will take place over the next six weeks.
This past Sunday we made our first stop in our Tour of Pumpkin Patches to Geisler Farms in Bondurant, Ia (about a 20-25 minute drive from Des Moines). We had never been to this pumpkin patch and didn't really know what to expect. I did a little research beforehand via Facebook and their web page. I knew ahead of time that we were going with their Option B, which included the pumpkin patch, the Fun Zone, and a hayride (that we didn't go on because the kid were having too much fun in the corn pool) for $5 per person.
The pedal cars were one of our favorite activities. They had all different sizes and also had a separate track with pedal tractor for young kids.
This is the only pumpkin patch that we've been to that has allowed adults on the jumping pad/pillow. We had the pad to ourselves for most of our jumping time.
Who doesn't love a good corn pool? The only downside to them is pulling corn out of pockets and shoes for days.

Geisler Farms has a wonderful indoor area that includes nice bathrooms, a shop area, couches, fireplace, tables, and a cafe with a few snack and lunch options. The entire farm was very nice, clean, and incredibly spacious. While we were there it wasn't extremely crowded which is a huge plus since we're always fighting crowds when we go to these places. If you just want a pumpkin, you don't have to pay to go to their makeshift pumpkin patch set up in the very front. They had a fantastic selection of pumpkins (all shapes, colors, and sizes), gourds, hay bales, and dried corn stalks. The Fun Zone had games, play equipment, a giant jump pad, pots and pans to play, giant slides, pedal tractors and cars, corn pools, and more.
The slides were great for racing. The further you leaned back the faster you went down.

Geisler Farms is now at the top of our list of pumpkin patches to visit every fall. Having such a great experience at our first stop on the Tour of Pumpkin Patches makes me really excited for the rest of the patches! Other patches we plan on visiting over the next few weeks:
